Papa and Mama Need New Shoes.

"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10

If
cameras were to follow me and my husband around this week, they would visit four boroughs, stand on various subway platforms, carry wardrobe bags full of conservative pinstriped suits, be an untimely corpse on Law and Order, recur as a political campaigner on The Good Wife, pose nearly naked to get measured for a company's clothes mannequin, take pictures of our palms for a Gossip Girl audition, try on a 1960's stewardess' costume for a pilot show, sort through 100 thousand dollars worth or furniture and fabric orders, Tweet a clever thought, stalk the SNL casting agent, and schlep past the four block long sanitation drop at the break of dawn, all while wearing out our work hustling thumbs on our trusty Blackberry's.

Who said sameness did a body good?

*Thanks Mama for a show idea I'd watch.

Fresh Air?

something is amiss...i shouldnt be retreating to my cold handheld device for peace and quiet.
but the beauty of the berkshire mountains provides a tranquil backdrop for hot italian unrest.

the smile from surprising my unsuspecting husband with forty years worth of rowdy friends could wear off if this "could have done so different" shit continues.

happy birthday to my ever gracious birthday boy. the night could not have been better.

my apologies for the lack of caps, i am trying to maintain eye contact with my mother in law.

If the spine numbing fear you feel when you look at this man is only associated with high prices at the gas pump, you're in bigger denial than you thought.

Good Excuse

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1

Apology to myself:

You don't write like you used to. You hardly ever call. Has the thrilling motion of staring at the wonder of a blank canvas turned into a guilty taunt at the end of an insufferable day?
Has the notion of speaking about yourself, your perspective, and your hygiene rituals suddenly become pointless and vain? If so, I accept the bareness of your pages and the briefness of your tones. Life is flying by and you're just holding on tightly to the concept of your one and only chance at living it and living it with meaning. It is understandable that amongst the daily hustle and at the end of the metal on metal grind, mentally digging deep is a foreign concept and at times a painful endurance.
It's okay. I forgive you. Now relax.
