Call On Me

“The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name." Zechariah 14:9

Should I be surprised that while I am cursing Michael Hastings and his sub level contemptuous and unethical move, my friendly acquaintances' blogs are glorifying him?
Nope.

There are a number of aggravating issues I would like to scream out loud, including the feasible happening of me decking the unfortunate next person who walks on the left side of the sidewalk, steps, etc and smack dab into my forearm.

But...

Years ago my pastor, Dr. Michael Youssef wrote a book about Islamic Fundamentalism making a widespread push into Western countries. People ignored his words. He grew increasingly frustrated and at Christian congregations blindness to this impending fact.
In his anger, he cried out to the Lord.
You know what God told him?

Don't blow fire, light a candle. And that day Leading the Way was born, taking the very holy tru word of the gospel into the houses and hearts of those who want to attack us.

Would you call that mud in their eye?

While this miserable leftist ideologue woman whines on about The Bible being a work of fiction for a childlike audience...>>>

I find I am proud to be a conservative moderate amongst the likes of these able, intellectual and opinionated strong arms of the rather sexy female persuasion.

The Commission

"The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe." John 1:5-7

I prayed with a girlfriend this morning who is leaving on a mission trip to Uganda. I prayed the Lord would keep His hand on her and that she would be a shining example of the Love of Jesus Christ. But more importantly, be convicted on today's true priorities through the eyes of these African children who sing love, love, love.

Daily Bread

"I am not insane, most excellent Festus," Paul replied. "What I am saying is true and reasonable." Acts 26:25

Tonight, I will stifle all maniacal rants concerning left liberal rock n roll journalists putting our very lives in danger to satisfy his own brain dead readership ego.

Mmmm.

There I was on a bright eyed and bushy tailed morning bus out of Port Authority to Paramus, New Jersey when the robust Polish man with hairy ears and cataract eyes sits next to me and turns his cockeyed ARMY hat to face front.
"You're soul will go up to heaven."
"I know this", I replied.
"But first, you will spend 150 years in purgatory. I know this because you are friendly."
"I don't believe in purgatory" I said to him.
"Ahh, that's cause your people from Northern Europe abused your bodies with sex that you reject what I know."

Moving Seats.

There I was in my Improv class when the limping crackhead comes through the door and starts emptying the contents of his well traversed backpack onto the ground during my scene.
And instead of following the pleading wishes of the instructor to leave, he pushes his comic books aside and participates in an improvisation sketch beside me. Quite well actually...
After being encouraged to sit down once again..he raises his shaking, chapped hand and says.

"It's bery obious dat ebby won here is acking diffent din in normal sssociety. Das Improv. I like it."
And with that, he fell off the bench in which he landed, smacked his head against the sharp corner of the stage, came to, gathered his meager belongings, and excused himself from class with his hand on his crotch.

We continued in the spirit of yes skit.

"It may be normal, darling; but I'd rather be natural." Truman Capote

Oh New York.

As most people expend tremendous energy to appear normal...

Distraction Action

"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

Did this include the sultry nights in NY where everyone is consuming joy juice and revealing the barest of legs?

I crawl past the NYPD, shining lights on the copulating bodies in Madison Square Park and successfully wipe the soot of the day off and into the long miles of Manhattan sewer.

Do you succumb?

Surrender

"If you cling to your life, you will lose it. But if you give it up for me, you will find it."Matthew 10:39

He is the king of kings. The Lord of Lords.
All Creation points to him.
He is Holy.
He is good.
I am small. And desperately want to hand my crazy uncertain life to Him.

Very Special Girl

"May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge." Ruth 2:12

This scripture came to me as I was being chastised to "Hush my mouth" by a 6 foot gorgeous black woman resembling Gabrielle Union.
At this point, I had been standing in hand me down Yves St. Laurent stilettos for nine hours and was getting cranky.
It was clear she was truly upset with me and my faith when she shook her long silky finger at me and said..."Don't you know, it's His Will and His Timing that got you here child?"

Shoot. I finally meet a gal who believes in the Word of the Lord and she beats me over the head with it...

It took me until the end of the work day after getting caught in an out of the blue thunderstorm when I stood next to Little Miss Sunshine herself running on the treadmill beside me to slap a smile on my soaking wet mug.

God is Good Yo. He showed me all of my superfreak moves.

Can you thank Him for the same?

Cold Hard Spew

"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:11

My confession is this.
I have no idea as to where this blog is heading.
So much of it has digressed into being anger fueled.
Will it take an upwards movement towards peace? I don't know.

Well of course the Latino population is exploding. Many of them are coming in by the truckload and boatload and copulating like rabbits. Which of course begs our President's next wonderful decision to push back once again on popular public opinion and sue Arizona.

Another Litigation...that's the ticket.
Aren't you already suing BP?
Well what about the trial of Khalid Shaikh Mohammad who's still sitting in GITMO?
Oh wait..weren't you going to shut that down your first month in office?

Someones been reading too much Noam Chomsky and is living in a world of comforting illusion.
Holy Moly, I know of a hole he can plug...

Did I lose any readers?

Whee...up we go then!

Turns out USA Network has an overinflated budget.

I cozied up in my smart shopper lavender suit to shoot the shit with a Brit named Simon, an "ex" con man (they never quite leave the business) who serves as a content consultant on White Collar...
Another one charmingly taking a huge bite of the Manhattan Money Pie.

I'm convinced there is a niche to be filled in every single arena...

And the only way I can fathom of monopolizing on my rowdy and surly past mistakes is good ole self deprecating writing... hidden amongst the cleverest of fiction of course.

What's holding you back from speaking the TRUTH?

Father Knows Best

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Not be all else to me, save that Thou art
.

Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all...

Irish Hymn

As I rolled onto my back in the middle of Central Park's Sheep Meadow, I watched the storm clouds quickly rolling in, hindering the blue sky, dampening a 90 degree day Manhattan and forcing all the young 20 somethings to pull their shorts up over their thonged asses and go running for cover.
Amongst the rain drops and the scattering of bodies and lifestyles, I deducted this much...

The world is an absolutely amazing form working in exact rhyme and reason.
It is our own self centered human behavior that chooses not to acknowledge something greater than ourselves but yet place such emphasis on our own man made image.

Despite their designer facade..No one can be happy with the material and social wealth this insane city can provide them. It's fruitless.

I want God to be at the center of everything I do...
Because if He is my focal point, the rest of the picture is perfect.

So...who's your Daddy?

That's Mrs. Positive to You

"For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth." Psalm 71:5

Him. And Him alone.

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. Les Brown

Something bout the air in the northeast June that makes your legs lighter and your spirits higher.
It is the cusp of the hot and sweaty to come. But the evening cool sets your thoughts on high as the wind blows your skirt up.

Not even the lying, cheating, flailing Lakers can break my stride.

A successful on tape audition with the Onion News Network and my elevated steps led me to the SouthWest Porch of Bryant Park where beer flowed like confidence and reason courtesy of the Indigo Girls under faded yellow umbrellas.

A front row seat to the 200 die hard yogis spread out in front of the New York Public Library, giving their setting sun salutations with butts in the air, breathed a relaxing breath in my big balls attitude as I climbed the steps to another Commercial Seminar where Lisa Gold hammered home that I should embrace the living hell out of the NO'S because that means I am spreading my wealth and showcasing my face.

Fail your way to success cause in the business there is no way you can say the right thing to the wrong person or the wrong thing to the right.

So I'm sitting here rubbing one out with rejection ready to market the hell out of me.

"Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars. " Les Brown

You Really Like Me

"I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me." John 13:20

I now know I am becoming a small part of my neighborhood community.

It's clear by the way my wine, massage, and fruit men all give me the same grin and wave as I pass their storefronts.

So what none of them speak English? It's the Universal Language of Love.

And hasn't hindered me giving my testimony to them loud and clear.

Do you conceal your truth for favor?

See Me

"Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame." Psalm 34:5

“There is nothing worse than a brilliant image of a fuzzy concept.” Ansel Adams

Man oh man, the Asian Can woman knows what she wants and goes after it. Not to mention, she knows the street schedule for garbage pickup. Early Bird catches the worm.

In this business we precede with show, you have to know your type in order to properly market yourself as the perfect little package.

Regardless of my short black mini. The plunging neckline of my tee. Or standing up in front of 150 fellow actors and commercial agents, repeatedly and unabashedly rebuking my given type with my hand on my 36" hips tonight...the votes are in and its official.

I am a WASP Suburban Soccer Mom with good hair and a pleasant smile.

This is not the image I look at in the mirror.

And despite the fact that I have been kicking and screaming against the main vein with alternate if not broader choices in my real day to day life, I got to give em what they want!

Gosh dammit, I am going to be the best child toting, juice box buying, mini van driving, super mom there is in my career life...
And glorify God all the way.

All aboard?

Diseased

Woe to me because of my injury! My wound is incurable! Yet I said to myself, "This is my sickness, and I must endure it." Jeremiah 10:19

Nearly eight hours into the shoot as I was chastising myself for this painful pleasure path I've chosen, He tipped his Panama hat and stared at me through his tortoise shell frames and stated this cold truth...

"Acting is like herpes, the feeling goes dormant for a while and then you get the itch that just festers and bleeds."

Crayola Box

"Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist."
1 Corinthians 8:6

My little brother made a comment I quickly scorned and then later thought about the peace it could possibly bring....as the Coexist bumper sticker becomes a running joke.

He said in his 19 years of wisdom. "I want to be surrounded by people who think and believe like me. The people that say God Bless You when you sneeze."

Then I thought about all the fun he would miss...

He would miss the skinhead with the Swastika on his neck walking his mangy pitbull with balls the size of my head down First Avenue.

He wouldn't walk past the Muslim men all rushing the 11th street Mosque to pray together in unison before charging the Halal Food Stand.

The 300 pound tattooed black woman in a chartreuse strapless dress with combat boots singing opera wouldn't even be a faint memory.

Naked Jewish women at the 14th Street Y with their wrinkled bellies covering their full bush while discussing the best egg bread for the least amount of money could never occur before his virgin eyes.

And he would never dance under the dim stars with the vagrants of Tompkins Square Park singing...

You gotta live for the one that you love you know.
You gotta love for the life that you live you know.
I said Hey, Hey, Hey. Don't let another moment pass away. MF

Calm and Collected

"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:2

According to the Apostle Paul I shouldn't promote the aggravation but only the Gospel.
Yet I can't help myself....

Sitting in the rubber room, she could hear Gary Cherone whispering "More than Words" and was immediately transported to rolling on her 15 year old back with tan bare legs on shag carpet, high on Gainseville Green, laughing at the conception of fun words like Poppycock and Mr. Mo Jo Risen, without a care in the world.
Always been the kid who looks relatively normal, falls in line with the responsible mainstream and steals her mom's Kool cigarettes to blow out her anger out of her 2nd story bedroom window.

Now, she just happens to spit it out here.

Surely everyone knows that it was the involved environmental movement who opposed shallow drilling in the first place that has oil on their hands.

New Yorkers who continue to stand on corners and coddle the Gaza Strip will have to lower their banners as Israel relinquishes restraint and bombs the living shit out of Baghdad once and for all.. Let's just cross our finger Helen Thomas (now retired surprise, surprise) doesn't move to NY and join them. That is there home you foolish woman.

Why hasn't the Administration questioned just why North Korea has submarines and who the hell is providing them? Or are we keeping the public in the dark about why you won't close Gitmo and the sights Korea has on launching nuclear bombs towards LA?

It is a daily conviction for me to get on my knees and repeat the name above all names, who's drop of blood saves every last one of us, but at the end of the day, the woes of this earthly world manifest themselves into my terror filled words.

We need a modern day Carol O'Connor back on television to stuff some truth down these reality TV's moronic and entitled faces who are ignorant to the world collapsing around them.

Despite my conservative exterior, I will give the Drug Alliance a second gander...

And Oh yeah, USC and Pete Carroll, NOTHING CAN STAY HIDDEN. HA. Ha. You losers.

Now, if you don't care about any of the above...
What's your opinion on this?

Bite Down

"For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; but God is the one you must fear." Eccelesiastes 5:7

Okay so maybe it was the nitrus oxide, but today, sitting in the chair getting two teeth drilled and filled with the smell of decay in the air was more tolerable than listening to this hot air...

Did you ever think a meeting with the head of British Petroleum might be the route to take over the expertness of shrimping captains? As of yesterday, this was still not a competent choice he had made...

Can you tell me what emotion this evokes and can you stand the pain?

Old

Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life. Proverbs 16:31

I sat in an upright chair covered with flower print plastic, eating a soft oatmeal cookie, listening
to, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" on the grand piano.
The twenty other women in the room with me looked on thoughtfully. Some hummed the tune, others sang in a muted voice with resonating memories of their time gone by, the rest rolled in to watch cautiously from the outskirts.
When the player struck the first keys of Oklahoma's, Oh What a Beautiful Morning, I looked at their wrinkled faces and dulling eyes...and tears filled mine.
It was impossible to imagine just what they had endured over the course of their lives. And as the song says, did everything go their way?

I know while they were busily lost in... falling in love, marrying, World War II, keeping a home, waiting or better praying, their husband would come home and meet his newborn baby, attending funerals of loved ones year after year, they never conceptualized the idea of spending the remainder of their days in this room with pale yellow wallpaper, a checkerboard in the corner, and a young black woman serving them lukewarm water.

I must slow down as the clock will not.
And I must love my husband with all I got, as I will outlive him.
I can only pray someone comes and plays the piano for me.

Do you think you know better than those before?

Claiming Ignorant

"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35

Ain't nothing like a small time inbred redneck wearing a visor to remind me, I dance dangerously close to the edge of being a misanthrope.

I went out swinging tonight.

"You can take the girl out of the honky tonk, But you can't take the honky tonk, take the honky tonk, out of the girl." Brooks and Dunn

But God knows I try.

If you've found a way to keep the peace, will you teach me?

You Gotta Let Go

I want to see y'all jumping...

One Thing...

"A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance," Ecclesiastes 3:4

Tonight on the beach of Governor's Island, staring back at magical Lower Manhattan, Michael Franti reminded us all... now is the time to dance.

Can you just shine on now, just shine on now?

Spouting

"I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs." Isaiah 41:8

OH MY GOD. I call on your name.

He's going on the offensive.
Let us not hire top notch civil engineers or send down Navy Seals to alleviate the gusher, let's throw your weight around and send the Attorney General (whom I've mentioned before) down to hire prosecutors to go after BP and oh yeah tax all of the oil companies while you're proactively at it. All the while insisting on what an amazing job you are doing, when public opinion screams otherwise
I can just imagine the Saudi's counting dollar signs right now. .

Are you fucking kidding me?

Don't use your slick finger to point and place blame, plug the hole. And not with insipid dialogue or charismatic gesturing. But with constant, empathetic, and obedient prayer.

Israel is the apple of God's eye and OBama tilts towards Palestine.
Do I need to explain to you why?

I would apologize but I am not sorry for my rant.
I just wish I was capable of putting it aside so my festering friction with the administration didn't bleed into my introspective loosely life based fiction at the end of the day.

Something to work towards in my future.

I would call my dad, but he would sing the likes of a country tune of, Sometimes Life is Too Damn Hard. And I already know that.

The good news if you want to call it that, is no matter how much I anger or pseudo operate on auto pilot in the maniac streets of NY, I never feel the desire to buy crack rock, hole up in my apartment and do shots of vodka while eating soggy breadcrumbs off my dirty tile floor.

And for this I am thankful.

Doesn't that count for something?

What? Scream Louder

"Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise." Proverbs 20:1

Got nothing better to do than indulge in a debaucherous and perfect temp Tuesday night happy hour.

Just wish I could bring the evening to a peaceful Advil popping close.

I think I am in the right city when I bang my hand against a taxi's window, have an all out fitful and obscenity filled altercation in the middle of the street, and part ways feeling vindicated, despite being called a bitch at high decibels.

Who am I and when will I find the shhhhh place?

**At lease I'm no threatening to pull the trigger.
