Whose House? God's House!

"Stand at the gate of the LORD's house and there proclaim this message: " 'Hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the LORD." Jeremiah 7:2

When I moved to NYC, I had made my mind up that it was a barren wasteland for Christians and the only praise and adoration there consisted of models, movie stars, and left wing media.
I was dead wrong.
My editor at the Examiner asked me to write an article helping others find evangelical churches in NYC.
More than thrilled to be a seed planter the following goes like this:

When people think about New York the first thing that comes to mind is a city that never sleeps, but turns out it is a city that perpetually worships.

The Apostle Paul spent eleven years traveling on his missionary journeys spreading the word of the Resurrected Jesus Christ. But the place where he spent the majority of his time ministering to the people was the city of Ephesus. Historians believe that Ephesus had a population of over three hundred thousand making it the largest city in Paul's time. Strategically located on the Augean Sea, it was an over crowded, bustling, port city that brought in merchants and business transactions for miles. And since it was the main banking, commerce, and  trade institution in Asia Minor, greed ran rampant. The Epistle Ephesians paints a picture of an active cosmopolitan cultural center that had fallen prey to idolatry and evil. After three separate visits to Ephesus  Paul truly started to see the influence of preaching Christ's word.

New York City is also a thriving mecca for media, fashion, finance, and so much more, including endless stimulus and constant temptations. Home to the United Nations, it has served as the entryway for immigrants for centuries. Culturally it represents a wide open mission field of the world.
And what so many don't know, it is an absolute center for Christ believing evangelical churches. New York is the fourth leading city for church plants based on diversity and ethnicity in the five Burroughs and there are many evangelical bible teaching churches to choose from....
